Tesla's AI account on X, since renamed Tesla Super Intelligence, posted at 02:08 UTC on 14 October 2026: "FSD Supervised v14 Lite now rolling out to Intel Model S&X". The carrier is firmware 2026.38.5.1, which Not a Tesla App dates 13 October and labels "FSD 14.3 Lite & 14.3.12".
That closes a gap TeslAnt has tracked for three weeks. When v14.2 Lite reached Hardware 3 Model S and X on 23 September, only the redesigned 2021-on cars took it. When the Lite branch was renumbered 14.3 on 7 October, whether S and X were included at all was left open. The pre-redesign cars were the last Hardware 3 group with no v14 branch. Now they have one.
Which cars Tesla means
Hardware 3 Model S and X come in two kinds. The redesigned cars pair the FSD computer with an AMD Ryzen media computer. The older cars pair it with the Intel Atom unit Tesla fitted from 2018, known as MCU2, including cars that reached Hardware 3 through a retrofit. Tesla's post names the Intel group and nothing narrower. One owner wrote on X within the hour that the update had installed on his wife's 2017 Model X and was finishing on his own, a car that can only have got here through both a media-computer and an FSD-computer retrofit.
What is in the build
Nothing new on paper. TeslAnt compared Not a Tesla App's release-note pages for 2026.38.5 and 2026.38.5.1 line by line: apart from the version number, the date and the install counters, they are identical. The v14.3 Lite section still runs to the six bullets that have been carried forward since v14.1 Lite, and the page still tags that section for Model 3 and Model Y, as it did for every earlier Lite build that reached S and X.
Which of the surrounding features reach an Intel car is a separate question, and the page's hardware tags answer part of it:
| Feature in 2026.38.5.1 | Tagged for |
|---|---|
| FSD (Supervised) v14.3 Lite | Hardware 3 |
| Start Self-Driving from Park, Arrival Options, Speed Profiles, UI Improvements | Hardware 3 |
| Supercharger Site Maps | Intel, including legacy Model S and X |
| Halloween Mode | AMD only |
| Automatic Collision Evasion, FSD (Supervised) v14.3.12 | Hardware 4 only |
Tesla Oracle reads the Intel build narrower still, with Speed Profiles as the only Lite extra and Arrival Options, Start Self-Driving from Park and the on-screen controls staying on Ryzen cars, as they did in its account of the first v14 Lite wide release. Tesla has published no Intel-specific list, so treat that as a reading rather than a specification.
How fast it is moving
Teslascope's fleet feed logged 2026.38.5.1 going to about 1,210 additional vehicles in five minutes at 05:40 UTC, 64% of them Hardware 4 cars taking v14.3.12 and 36% Hardware 3 cars taking v14.3 Lite. TeslaFi, which counts only its own subscribers, had 37 cars on the build by 09:00 UTC, 0.3% of its fleet, with 154 installs pending. Its install log shows the pattern the post describes: Hardware 3 Model S cars arriving from 2026.26.6.1 and 2026.32.7, builds with no FSD branch at all, alongside Model 3 and Model Y cars stepping up from earlier Lite firmware. Every logged install was in the United States or Canada.
| Firmware | TeslaFi cars | Share of fleet | Pending |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026.38.5.1 (14.3 Lite and 14.3.12) | 37 | 0.3% | 154 |
| 2026.38.5 (14.3 Lite and 14.3.12) | 330 | 2.7% | 140 |
| 2026.38.3.1 | 2,982 | 24% | 1,728 |
| 2026.33.100 (FSD 14.2.2.6) | 221 | 1.8% | 0 |
Europe is where it was
The Lite branch has never shipped in Europe in any version, and this build does not change that. European FSD cars remain on v14.2.2.6, which moved onto the 2026.33 base on 1 October without a new FSD number. What a European owner of an older Model S or X can take from today is narrower, and still worth having: five months after the last S and X left Fremont, Tesla is still porting its current driving stack onto the oldest computer pairing those cars carry. For the roughly 7,900 European owners pressing Tesla over Hardware 3, that is the software answer Tesla keeps giving, and it is still delivered to North America first.
