Tesla began rolling out firmware 2026.32.7 on 23 September 2026, the second build in the 2026.32 branch after 2026.32.3 opened it on 9 September. Its documented release notes are word for word the ones that branch already had. The change worth knowing about is not in them.
The notes are a reprint
| Entry | New in 2026.32.7? |
|---|---|
| Wheel Selection | No — introduced with 2026.32.3 |
| Apple Music library browsing | No — carried since the 2026.26.6.5 Summer Update |
| Recall Notice, EU Recall 2026_103555 | No — third branch to carry it |
| Security Improvements | Routine |
Nothing in that list is a reason to want the update. Tesla reprints note entries across point releases as a matter of habit, and the notes alone would tell an owner that 2026.32.7 changes nothing.
The browser got an ad blocker, and Tesla never wrote it down
The branch's one genuinely useful addition has never appeared in a release note. Tesla added an ad blocker to the in-car browser: an AD toggle in the top-right corner of the browser window, implemented as a custom Chromium extension that filters at the network-request level, so advertising and tracking resources are never fetched rather than hidden after the page draws.
It arrived with 2026.32.3 and was found rather than announced — demonstrated by Roland Pircher on 9 September and written up by Not a Tesla App the next day. Our own 2026.32.3 coverage, published hours before that demonstration, listed the four documented entries and missed it. Two weeks on, the 2026.32.7 notes page still files the ad blocker under undocumented changes.
The cars that gain most are the oldest ones. Blocking ad frameworks before they load frees memory and CPU on Intel Atom MCU2 units, which struggle with script-heavy modern pages. This is a rare case of a Tesla software update making an ageing car materially better rather than adding something only the newest hardware can use.
The branch is now the mainstream one
In September this site wrote that 2026.32 read like the successor to the 2026.26 mainstream branch, and that Tesla had not said so. The rollout has now answered it.
| Build | Share of tracked fleet |
|---|---|
| 2026.32.3 | 38.0% |
| 2026.32.7 | 8.2% |
| 2026.32 branch combined | about 46% |
Against the 0.4% our 2026.32.3 article recorded on 9 September, that is the branch going from a curiosity to the build most cars are on. 2026.32.7 itself sits at 1,010 cars with three installs pending — early, and rising by roughly 79 cars a day.
The branch still contains no FSD section. That work stays on 2026.27.x, where v14.3.10 shipped for Hardware 4 and 2026.27.11 is now at 11.6% of the fleet. A car on 2026.32.7 is on Tesla's mainstream software and not on its newest driving software.
Which cars get it
Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y, on both AI3 and AI4 computers — the whole current line, not a hardware-gated subset.
For European owners
The recall entry is the practical reason to accept this update. The remedy for EU Recall 2026_103555, restoring compliance with UNECE Regulation No. 135 on pole side impact, first shipped inside 2026.27.200 — a build that never passed about 1% of the fleet. For a European Model 3 or Model Y still carrying the open recall, 2026.32.7 is now the likeliest route to closing it.
One caution on geography: Drive Tesla's early-install sample splits 44.4% Germany, 33.3% United States, 11.1% Taiwan and 11.1% Australia. Those figures are all ninths, because the sample is nine cars — too small to call the rollout Germany-first, however much a German owner might want it to be.
Update: 2026-09-27
On 27 September 2026 Not a Tesla App reported a second change this build does not document: Grok has been switched on in Israel and the UAE. There is no release-note entry for it either — the assistant simply appears in the App Launcher once 2026.32.7 installs. The requirements are the existing ones, an AMD Ryzen infotainment computer and either Premium Connectivity or a Wi-Fi connection, and no separate Grok account or subscription is needed. Not a Tesla App expects Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan to follow on the same build; Tesla has not confirmed that. For a European owner nothing changes here: Grok has been in European cars since 2026.2.6 arrived in February. What it does confirm is the point above — the release notes are not where this branch records what it changes.
