Tesla's February software update brings its most notable AI integration yet: Grok, the xAI assistant, can now control navigation.
Grok with Navigation Commands (Beta)
Version 2026.2.6, released on 15 February, adds voice-controlled navigation through Grok on vehicles equipped with AMD Ryzen processors. Drivers can ask Grok to find the nearest Supercharger, navigate to a specific type of restaurant, or plan multi-stop routes — all through natural language.
The feature offers customisable voice personalities, including options called "Storyteller" and "Unhinged" (Tesla's naming, not ours). It requires Premium Connectivity or a WiFi connection, and Tesla states that conversations remain anonymous.
Grok can be accessed via the App Launcher or the steering wheel voice button. The feature is currently rolling out across European markets, making it one of the first Grok integrations available to European Tesla owners.
3D Supercharger Maps Expand in Europe
Vehicles with AMD-based infotainment now display 3D site maps at additional European Supercharger locations. The maps show real-time stall occupancy and vehicle positions, helping drivers identify available chargers before pulling in. Belgium was among the first European countries to receive this feature in the 2026.2 update; the 2026.2.6 release expands coverage further.
Active Road Noise Reduction
The 2026.2.6.1 follow-up update (23 February) introduces active noise cancellation that uses seat microphones to measure cabin noise, then generates counter-signals through the speakers to create quieter zones around occupants. This feature currently applies to Cybertruck only and targets lower-frequency road noise on rough surfaces.
Ongoing Interface Changes
The "Autopilot" to "Self-Driving" rebrand continues to propagate through the interface, with more menu items updated in this release. The maps version display has also been simplified to show only region and version number.
What European Owners Get
The Grok navigation integration is the standout feature for European drivers. Voice-controlled route planning through a capable AI assistant reduces the need to type destinations while driving — a practical safety improvement. Combined with expanding Supercharger 3D maps, the update makes the in-car experience meaningfully better for daily use and road trips.
