Tesla's Spring 2025 software update (versions 2025.2 through 2025.8) delivers a batch of practical improvements that European owners have been requesting — with rollout to Europe beginning in April 2025.

Navigation Gets Three Options

The most useful change for long-distance drivers: navigation now offers three alternative routes instead of one. The options present the fastest route, a route requiring the fewest charging stops, and a comfort-focused route that prioritises your preferred Supercharger stations. A new highway avoidance toggle lets drivers opt for scenic or toll-free alternatives.

For European owners who regularly cross borders and deal with varying charging networks, having route flexibility is a meaningful quality-of-life upgrade.

Smarter Trunk and Parking Features

The power tailgate now remembers opening heights by location. Park in your low-ceiling garage regularly and the trunk adjusts its maximum height automatically — no more banging into overhead beams. This feature uses GPS to associate each saved location with a specific trunk height.

Android users finally get hands-free trunk and frunk opening, catching up with a feature iPhone owners have had since late 2024.

Redesigned Dashcam Viewer

The built-in dashcam viewer received a visual overhaul with a new grid layout for browsing clips and multi-delete capability. For Sentry Mode users who accumulate dozens of clips, the multi-delete function alone saves significant time.

Smaller But Welcome Changes

Auxiliary outlets — 12V, USB, and wireless charging — now remain active when the vehicle is parked with battery above 20%. This means phones and devices keep charging while you are away from the car briefly.

Other additions include automatic Wi-Fi hotspot connection, easy language switching on the touchscreen, media search filters by source, and YouTube Music now showing the next song in queue.

The update also activates the interior radar sensor on the refreshed Model Y and improves the cross-traffic warning system when reversing.

Update (March 2026): Subsequent 2025 updates added Rave Cave, Grok voice assistant integration, FSD Strikes system, and frontal airbag enhancements. The Holiday 2025 update brought further refinements.
