Tesla appears to have changed one of the least visible and most consequential parts of the Model Y at Giga Berlin, and as usual there has been no announcement. The evidence is a part number.

What the Super Manifold does

The Model Y's thermal system is built around a heat pump and the Octovalve, the multi-way valve that decides where heat goes. Two manifolds sit alongside it: a polymer one carrying water-glycol coolant, and an aluminium-alloy one carrying R1234yf refrigerant. That aluminium block is the Super Manifold, and it is the plumbing junction that lets the car move heat between the battery, the drive units and the cabin instead of generating or dumping it.

That matters more in Europe than the component's obscurity suggests. It is the part doing the work when a car preconditions a cold battery on a winter motorway run, and again when the pack has to shed heat through a sustained Supercharging session.

What changed

The older assembly carries part number 1547595-00-H. The newer one is listed as 1735000-00-A. It was spotted in a Coastal Blue Model Y Standard built at Giga Berlin on 27 August 2026, and at least one owner on the TFF forums reports the same component in a Model Y Standard built as early as June — so the changeover may have started before anyone noticed.

The reported improvement is consolidation: more of the separate fittings and passages combined into a single casting, with greater thermal capacity and better efficiency. That is a familiar Tesla pattern — the original Super Manifold itself replaced a scatter of individual parts — and the payoff is usually fewer joints to leak, less assembly labour, and a little more headroom under load.

How firm is this

Not very, and it is worth being precise about why. Tesla has said nothing. There is no press release, no service bulletin, and no entry in any release notes. What exists is a parts-catalogue number, one photographed car with a known build date, and a forum report of an earlier example. The performance claims — more capacity, better efficiency — are inference from the design change rather than measured figures, and nobody has published a thermal test showing a Berlin-built Model Y charging or preconditioning any better than before.

Treat the part swap as well evidenced and the benefits as unquantified.

What it means for European buyers

Nothing you can act on at the point of sale. Tesla does not advertise the manifold revision, it does not appear on the configurator, and there is no way to specify it. If you take delivery of a Model Y Standard built at Giga Berlin from roughly midsummer onwards, you may well have it.

It fits a wider pattern at the Brandenburg plant, where Tesla has been making steady under-the-skin revisions rather than headline changes — the same approach that produced the switch away from the white interior in Europe. Owners find out afterwards, from part numbers.
