Tesla has removed the 50,000-kronor "Tesla Bonus" on the Model Y in Sweden, and in Norway a bonus of the same size no longer reaches new orders because delivery dates have moved into 2027. In both countries, a Model Y ordered from the factory today costs 50,000 kronor more than it did with the bonus.

Sweden: back to 499,900 kronor

The entry rear-wheel-drive Model Y now starts at SEK 499,900, Allt om Elbil and Teknikveckan reported on 4 November 2026. Allt om Elbil says the bonus had applied since April and brought the car down to SEK 449,900, the same price as the cheapest Model 3. The Model 3 still starts at SEK 449,900. The Model Y it describes is rated at 534 km WLTP and 0–100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.

The change also takes the Model Y out of Sweden's state electric-car premium. The elbilspremie, open to applications since 18 March, pays SEK 46,800 over 36 months to households in rural areas whose income is at most 80% of the national average, plus a SEK 18,000 start supplement for the lowest incomes. Under Naturvårdsverket's conditions, a purchased car must cost between SEK 64,800 and SEK 450,000. With the bonus the Model Y fitted with 100 kronor to spare. At SEK 499,900 it no longer qualifies. Leases still qualify if the monthly cost is between SEK 1,800 and SEK 4,600.

Market and version With the bonus Without it
Sweden, Model Y rear-wheel drive SEK 449,900 SEK 499,900
Sweden, Model 3 (no bonus) SEK 449,900 SEK 449,900
Norway, Model Y Premium Long Range AWD just over NOK 548,000 about NOK 598,000

Norway: still offered, but only for 2026 deliveries

In Norway, Tesla has taken NOK 50,000 off the Model Y Premium Long Range with all-wheel drive throughout 2026, matching the VAT the car picked up on 1 January, Elbil24 reports. More than 95% of the Model Ys sold in Norway this year have been that version, according to OFV figures cited by Elbil24.

Tesla's current terms limit the bonus to cars ordered between 1 October and 31 December 2026 and delivered by 31 December. The configurator now quotes delivery in the first quarter of 2027, so a car ordered today does not qualify. The 0% financing campaign carries the same delivery condition. Elbil24 values it at about NOK 73,000 after tax for a buyer who finances the full price over ten years. Cars already in Tesla's Norwegian stock still get both offers; Elbil24 counted 19 on Wednesday morning.

Tesla's Norwegian press office told Elbil24 it could not yet say whether a new bonus would follow from January.

January could add more

Norway's 2027 budget proposes halving the VAT exemption for electric cars to NOK 150,000, which would add NOK 37,500 to a Model Y. The Storting has not yet passed it. Elbil24 calculates that if neither the bonus nor the 0% rate returns and the VAT change goes through, a fully financed Model Y could cost up to NOK 160,000 more than under today's terms.

What it means for buyers

In Sweden, a buyer who qualifies for the premium now has one Tesla priced inside the limit, the Model 3. In Norway, only stock cars still come with the bonus and the 0% rate. The later delivery dates follow Tesla's best October in Norway, with 1,548 registrations.
